Kay Komizara is a Tiohtià:ke (Montreal) based, multidisciplinary artist, director, writer, and designer working across theatre and interactive media. Since 2013, she has developed original, collaborative works that examine power, sacrifice, and destiny through structured, research-driven creations.
Her main focus is building story structures that help people work together to create meaningful, emotional stories. Her projects include the horror-comedy musical Monstrologyka and the touring dark-comedy Death of a Starman. She is currently developing D# ‘N Blue, a large-scale sci-fi tragedy exploring themes of communication, collapse, and identity.
Kay has also contributed to narrative design and writing within the video game industry. A cancer survivor and trans artist, she brings lived experience, critical inquiry, and formal experimentation to her process.
Her mission is to create effective stories that inspire others to create their own.
